Let us specify the root for a new SFTP account
This is such a basic feature that exists on any cPanel hosting plan. Simply allow us to set the root folder for a new SFTP accounts for an application.
I have software that automatically uploads to the SFTP but the upload fails because your default root (applcations/(appname) is not writable. Simply add a field to let us specify where the root for he new SFTP we just created will be (i.e. applications/(appname)/public_html/newfolder
I cannot stress enough how useful this will be for us developers and will make the CloudWays experience more robust and scalable.

I found this amazing guide online for restricting an SFTP logins to a specfic folder

I would like to be able to restrict FTP to a directory as well and my reason is security. Take for example the case in which you need to give partial access to another party for technical troubleshooting without giving full access to the app.

What's holding this up? This is a serious deal breaker. Is there a workaround for this? For example can we create a new application and nest it within an existing one?

Super important for me too. Any news on this?

This is critical for one of our applications to receive files via FTP. It should be simple to do.

We should be able to create FTP users that can only access specific folders.

Would be GREAT this feature. I have some employees that can't have access to whole apps. Only to specific folders.

We really need the ability to restrict a SFTP login to a specific folder. This should have been done already. I am stuck today. Just discovered this feature does not exist.

Hear! Hear! This is a critical control panel feature that has to be in place. It is mind boggling that it does not exist as a feature. Come on Cloudways... So much great stuff and you overlook something this simple?

Hey Guys, This one you can't decide by Vote. This is mandatory feature of Web Development. You should bring this feature by Default.

This should definitely be a feature cloudways adds to their system for multiple reasons. Would help with security, simplicity of use, a standard other hosting services provide.

For now you get access to all folders and files, which might cause security problems. And GDPR Problems, as anybody that has been given access could delete or copy any personal Data of web shop clients, for example

Hi,
You CloudWays have a feature to create new access for Appilcation. But there should be an option to give limited access. For example I have 5 folders in /applications/uhspstmcyh/public_html application. I have a created a new application credential, I want that user should have access to only one folder which is /applications/uhspstmcyh/public_html/area
This feature is not available at the moment.
Thanks,
Sumit -

Has this not happened yet? Guess I'll be looking for another hosting option...
