choose application folder name
It is very very annoying that the system generates unrelated folder names for each appliaction - Please allow us to choose the name of the folder when creating a new application

We already have an option to rename the folder
https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5124176-how-to-rename-your-web-application-folder
This creates a new folder alias with the name you’ve created. So in SFTP/SSH, you’ll still see the original random folder name, along the folder name you just created.

I like the fact that we can rename the folder. But the gibberish folder causing additional confusion. I understand is required for the system to identify the original - but maybe this can be a hidden folder?
Would love to see just appropriately names folders on my server.

This functionality is already available.
Whe in the dashboard and looking at your Application, go to the Application Settings link in the left sidebar.
Then under the General tab in the Applications settings, click on the pencil icon just to the right of the Folder and change it to whatever you want.
Note that this creates a new folder alias with the name you've created. So in FTP, you'll still see the original random folder name,. But you'll also see the folder name you just created.
For simplicity of sorting, I start all my folder names with either "live" or "dev" plus the site name so they all group together when accessing via FTP.

currently you can change the application name after you create it, but its just a shortcut, so in the ftp folder you will have 2 folders for each application, this can get confusing quick
so it would be nice to be able to set the original name when creating the application the first place
