Backup Process Improvement
Hello Team,
As of now there's only one full backup / restore option (Server Management > Backups > Take Backup Now)
Can you please provide some option where the user can take backup as per their requirement, Sometime developer just want to take a backup of the database or hosting files not both all the time.
If you're providing some option where the user can take backup/restore accordingly as of now if we're taking full backup and restoring the full backup it's super time consuming for the bigger websites while they just want to take database backup.
Suggested Backup Process
1) Database Backup Only
2) Hosting Files Backup Only
3) Full Backup (Database + Hosting)
Suggested Restore Process
1) Database Restore Only
2) Hosting Files Restore Only
3) Full Restore (Database + Hosting)
Vote up everyone if you want this feature on priority.
Thanks,

Right now the backup functions compresses everything on the server and then sends it to the external backup but when the disk space is not enough for the files to be compressed it will get stuck and the fragmented file will fill up the server space every day until the disk is full. It seems unreasonable to upgrade the disk space just for the backup to be able to compress the files. Please provide more options to control the backup process.

I second support Dirk on this. There are many occasions where you only want to recover the files or the database alone.
This is something really important and I am sure many share the same opinion.

Backup is more important for us to take of our data and in this way, we can secure it easily. I get a suggestion from https://www.australian-writings.net/ about the drive used as a backup and it works for me.

Agreed!
It would also be good to be able to include all files in the backup (even if it's at extra cost).
The following are currently excluded:
public_html/storage/logs/*
public_html/var/cache/*
public_html/var/locks/*
public_html/var/log/*
public_html/var/page_cache/*
public_html/var/session/*
public_html/var/sessions/*
public_html/var/tmp/*
public_html/.git/*The last one - .git - being the important one. It holds data which may not otherwise be stored and might be the very reason for restoring the backup.

It'll be nice that you enable the restore of single files/directories or just the database not forcibly the whole thing.

Versioning control and max space limitations would also help.

I am now forced to restore a complete backup (database + files). It would be nice if I could just restore the database in case I mess something up in the database.

it would also be great to have the option of downloading the file(s) of an individual application's backup

I think a great feature would be to have them separated as options.
So you can choose to restore either files, data or both. That is how GoDaddys managed wordpress backup and restore works.

Choose any of the existing restore points in the last 30 days, then:
- Download
- Just restore DB
The ability to download any of the listed restore points for each application. Currently the only option is to overwrite the existing Application. Whereas I appreciate the local backup solution is good, you only have the latest backup.
There are instances where someone will need to extract a database from a few days previous, but leave the current files intact.
