We Should be Able to Group our Applications
Each Group than can have multiple Applications within, we should be able to create our Own Custom Groups.1 vote
You should be able to use the Project feature to achieve this:
It is very very annoying that the system generates unrelated folder names for each appliaction - Please allow us to choose the name of the folder when creating a new application19 votes
We already have an option to rename the folder
This creates a new folder alias with the name you’ve created. So in SFTP/SSH, you’ll still see the original random folder name, along the folder name you just created.
I needed to check with you if can can suspend a particular project / application. since I have multiple applications running on one server I wish to suspend project at random for instance when the payment is not come in from a client or any such reasons. implementing such feature would help.1 vote
We already have the option to disable/suspend a particular application from the platform please refer to https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5124808-how-to-stop-access-to-an-application for more details
Sometimes we use Cloudways for a project that goes on hold for months or longer.
Rather than just leave the server running (high cost) or downloading the individual backup dumps of each app on the server before deleting it (high effort)
It would be super useful to keep the full backup of the server/apps on the remote backup and delete the cloud server "Archive the server"
Then when we need to server again it can be fully restored (with all the individual settings!) to a new cloudways hosted server.3 votes
In this case the best option would be to use AWS/GCE servers for your projects, with DigitalOcean, Linode & Vultr we charge you the same amount if the server is started or stopped (DigitalOcean, Linode & Vultr policy). With Amazon or GCE, if you stop the server, we just charge you for the disk usage and minimal charges for the server will be applicable.
Bot Protection DISABLED BY DEFAULT in the application
I suggest adding an option to start a new app on the server with the application of the Protection bot OFF by DEFAULT.
If needed, the administrator can activate it later.
This prevents false positive blocking when the site is being developed.
We always use the wordfence plugin for wordpress, it works much better than Malcare's Bot protection.
Thanks for listening.2 votes
We currently have 2 option in the platform for Wordpress Application
1. Wordpress Optimized
A Wordpress Optimized is a Standard install that comes up fully pre-configured with Cloudways breeze cache plugins and Bot Protection feature.
2. Wordpress Clean
A Wordpress Clean is a Standard install that contains no pre-configured feature from Cloudways i.e. by default no Breeze Or Bot Protection will be enabled but user will have the freedom to enable them later.
if you don’t want to use Bot protection to be added while adding new application please select Wordpress Clean Install
It's fairly simple to setup a Varnish rule to exclude wp-admin. But it does become a bit annoyying when you've got a lot of WordPress sites. So it being included in the default setup when you select WordPress would be really useful.2 votes
it’s already excluded by default for more details in regards to Varnish please visit.
Currently, the backups are automatic. Which is ok.But sometimes i would want a single back up and restore it whenever there is a problem in the site.
Automatic backups also problematic in a scenario where the site had malware and that gets backuped as well.
then we have to work from scratch and copy the content.
Right now i have to use WP extensions but that is NOT ideal and a bit of a hassle
so please consider adding this option
The on-demand backup option is already available please refer to our Knowledge Base article https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5123364-how-to-backup-a-specific-application
OVH Cloud VPS servers are cheap, with a high traffic limit, built-in anti DDOS and are able to use IPs from some European countries.132 votes
We are running Product Discovery calls around it.
