  1. Load Data Local Infile enabled for MySQL

I run an e-commerce site that imports data feeds from our suppliers. However our import addon can't work as it requires Load Data Local Infile enabled for MySQL.

  3. Force Varnish cache when HTTP Authentication is enabled

For development reasons we protect our application with HTTP AUTH

After user has been authenticated varnish is not caching the request because of the authorization header always being sent (see default.vcl).

Add "unset req.http.Authorization" after auth check on vcl_recv to force caching.

  4. Autosuggest endpoint for Elasticpress

Hi I love Elsticsearch on Cloudways. But I miss the option to create a safe end point for the Elsticpress plugin.

  5. Switch to AWS t3a.small servers in place of the old t2.small servers for your $36.50/month Managed AWS packages

The t3a family of servers upgrade the old t2 family of servers. The t3a family is cheaper to run yet more powerful, so you'll save money and your clients will get an even better product.

  7. Show maintanance page while the server upgrade is in process

The server upgrade takes somewhere between 10-15 minutes and during the upgrade, visitors can't access the website. They see a 503 error.

I think Cloudways should show a maintenance page while the server upgrade is in the process.

  9. Nginx location directives

I would like to have seperate settings per location in my nginx configuration. Currently I cannot access the "server.nginx" configuration file in my application (which I assume to be the site configuration).

  10. Preserving IP address when cloning server - making scaling down hassle-free

    Scaling up is easy.

Scaling down (with Vultr, DigitalOcean or Linode) requires to clone a server.

When cloning, server gets new IP address - this causes a lot of hassle with application integration or DNS configuration.

    SUGGESTION:
It would be great to make scaling down hassle-free, so that after cloning server could have the same IP as previous server.

  11. Add Database Server like RDS for multi server applications.

Multi-server applications are very common these days.
Example: Application files on one server and Database on another server like RDS.
We need such option to put our large applications onto it.

  12. What a joke on the TRIAL

Trial, 2GB Ram, 50GB disk space, and 25GB bandwidth!!! I downloaded 35GB files, and I deleted, and downloaded 10GB files again, extracted, and the server was turned OFF "allowed bandwidth exceeded"!!!!!

Is this not funny and 'technical joke'?

  14. Make phpmyadmin as default database manager

    Hi,

Why don't make phpmyadmin as the default database manager. Everybody uses it. All tutorials on the web are about this manager.
    Not this cloudways default manager.

Now i always need to do a complicated time taking installation.
    This is not user friendly?

  15. Make XDebug accessible for remote debugging

I would like to use my IDE such as PHPstorm, to have remote debugging sessions using XDebug. Currently, XDebug is available on Cloudways but I cannot connect to it, so what is the point?

  16. Add stored procedure SQL server

Cloudways mysql server didn't support stored procedure Sql. I think it would be better if stored procedure functionality add on mysql server.

  17. Add write permissions to user (~) directory for SSH application user

The application user does not have write permissions to their own user directory (i.e. ~/). This prevents any application that needs to write to this directory from being run when logged in as an application user, such as git, ssh, npm, etc.

Making the user directory for the application user writable by the application user, so that new files and sub-directories can be created, will solve many issues that myself and others are having running applications when logged in as an application user.

Other feedback ideas this should solve include:

Please enable NPM in SSH when we are using…

  18. Add ability to set ServerTokens configuration in Apache

Often there is a desire by security teams not to expose verbose information about the versions of software and operating system running on a system. It would be great if the ServerTokens and ServerSignature configuration items were available to silence or minimize the information given. The motivation here is to prevent handing an attacker information about what older exploits might apply or not to your server.

  19. Tracked deletions in git should be synced with the server upon deployment

Currently when using the git deployment feature, if you delete a previously tracked file and push this change to the server it doesn't delete the file from the server.

This means you're left with lots of legacy files that are no longer needed, and your repo is no longer in sync with your server files.

This can cause issues if you ever wanted to push changes back from the server to git as it would then track the previously deleted files and re-add them to the sever!

I'd assume this to be expected behaviour but there might be a reason…

  20. Allow NGINX to work in all but specified folders

I had crushed in a user case which required to manage file permissions via .htaccess RewriteRules, with files physically available inside web-visible folders instead of logic-protected folders, so I had been forced to have CloudWays disable NGINX for my server.

Instead, it would be nice to have a panel where to configure specific folders with Apache-based file serve, instead of NGINX-based.
