Please add advanced/custom PHP configuration for the server, so I just type the config, so it will effect to all apps. At the moment I only able to see the custom/advanced setting for app. Not the server.

  3. Default UTF Encoding

Everything is pre-configured and installed as ASCII.

if I go in and change the default encoding, it is confusing. What if I want to upgrade to PHP& and MariaDB 10? In what order should the default encodings be changed? After upgrading to PHP 7?

The Server, MySQL and PHP all have separate encoding settings. It seems like changing these at the right time during initial configuration is vital.

So if you were installing Magento 2.1 on a GCloud server, how would you go about it?

After the server is created, should I go in and change the default encodings to…

  4. Load Data Local Infile enabled for MySQL

I run an e-commerce site that imports data feeds from our suppliers. However our import addon can't work as it requires Load Data Local Infile enabled for MySQL.

  6. Add more file types on database import

I found myself in a position where I had a huge table locally and wanted to import it on my database.

    CSV file ~30mb
    SQL file ~200mb

Unfortunately, we can only import tables from sql files. Would love to see different file types like CSV, JSON, XML

  7. Ask for a confirmation when "Removing" git repo from "Deployment via Git"

When removing Github repo from "Deployment via Git", please ask for a confirmation first. I clicked Remove button by accident, then had to set it up again.

  9. Improve permission settings

I notice when you change the shell username to something else, it doesn't change the ownership of the directories and files in the public_html directory. You have to do an additional step which is Reset Permissions to have it reflect the changes. Maybe have function to also reset permissions when you change the shell username.

  10. Use supported PHP timezones (America/Chicago instead of US/Central)

Some of the PHP timezones listed on the basic settings and packages page are not supported by PHP. For example, I can select "US/Central" as a timezone, but PHP only supports "America/Chicago", which isn't an option. See: https://secure.php.net/manual/en/timezones.others.php

  11. Wishlist member & NGINX compatibility

Currently wishlist member cannot protect individual files unless changes are made to the Nginx configuration. The support team are unable to make these changes on an individual basis, so the whole configuration needs to be updated system wide.

  12. Allow server timezone settings to automatically adjust for BST (summer time change)

In Ireland and the Uk the clock changes twice a year to adjust for BST which becomes GMT+1 this means the server timezone for all apps running London/Dublin location become inaccurate by an hour.

So it would be better if server time zone could match site application time zone (eg Drupal timezone) or else if server timezone can automatically adjust for BST changes.

  13. Allow customers to retain their servers when leaving

I understand you need to limit control. If I need to migrate away from cloudways can you give me access to the server and "detach" from cloudways? Most clients will be fine, but if we hit a "wall" where need to do something you won't let us then want to take entire server config and since we already have the droplet - just let me have it! You can even charge a migration out fee.

  14. Invision Power Board (IPB) + Varnich Compatibility

Your Varnich settings currently are not compatible with IPB as it is blocking its' cookie.
I highly suggest you to make IPB Compatible with your Varnich setting.

  17. Force Varnish cache when HTTP Authentication is enabled

For development reasons we protect our application with HTTP AUTH

After user has been authenticated varnish is not caching the request because of the authorization header always being sent (see default.vcl).

Add "unset req.http.Authorization" after auth check on vcl_recv to force caching.

  18. Optimize the performance of the Object cache (W3TC) in the WordPress admin panel

Enabling "Objects cache" option slows down the admin panel several times and does the admin job uncomfortable. This is confirmed as the objective admin panel page load time, and when I tested perfomance with the P3 plugin. Disabling this option or use "Database cache" instead of "Objects cache" returns the speed of the admin panel at an acceptable level.

I use the W3TC plugin to cache the site in full accordance with your guidelines. This problem constantly exists as in the Cloudways WordPress Cloud Platform and in the Cloudways WooCommerce Cloud Platform.

It seems that the problem requires a more…

  19. Enable SSLSessionCache

This configures the storage type of the global/inter-process SSL Session Cache. This cache is an optional facility which speeds up parallel request processing. For requests to the same server process (via HTTP keep-alive), OpenSSL already caches the SSL session information locally. But because modern clients request inlined images and other data via parallel requests (usually up to four parallel requests are common) those requests are served by different pre-forked server processes. Here an inter-process cache helps to avoid unnecessary session handshakes.

    Ex.: SSLSessionCache shm:/usr/local/apache/logs/sslgcachedata(32000)

    https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_ssl.html#sslsessioncache

Or via Memcached (but this requires Apache v2.4) :
    https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/en/mod/mod_socache_memcache.html
