Sphinx search for magento recommended
In Magento Some Extensions like aheadwork advance search work with sphinx search so I recommend to improve your server with sphinx search

Sphinx and Solr engine
Magento search is probably a problem for most of Magento user and I think Sphinx and Solr are what all Magento store need. So if these engine can be installed, it must be very convenience.

Please note that we have added the option to deploy Elasticsearch to any server. You can do it from the Packages tab in the Server Settings section. We will consider Solr at a later stage.

Ability to install extra tools e.g. modman
